Haiyuange is located in Beiyang, Wanshouguan Street, south of Guangyuelou, Liaocheng City, Shandong Province. It is one of the four largest libraries in Qing Dynasty and one of the most famous private libraries in China history.
Haiyuan Pavilion was built by Yang Yizeng, a Liaocheng scholar, in the 20th year of Qing Daoguang (AD 1840). After four generations' careful care, * * * has now collected more than 4,000 kinds of books and more than 220,000 volumes, among which the rare books of Song and Yuan Dynasties 1000 volumes have condensed the wisdom of the working people in ancient China. "Four Classics and Four History" and "Jade Mountain Nirvana in Fire" ... Many academic experts spoke highly of Haiyuan Pavilion, which has a long history of book collection in China.
1956 65438+February, the people's government of Shandong Province listed Haiyuan Pavilion as the first batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units.
Haiyuange is a symbol of Liaocheng's cultural prosperity and an important part of Liaocheng as a national historical and cultural city, which is of great significance in the cultural history of China.
