These illustrations guide our imagination through the rabbit hole and follow Alice into the strange underground world.

Carol, the author, took her friend's three little daughters boating on the river on a summer afternoon. In order to amuse the children, he made up these stories for them. One of her daughters, AliceLidell, was fascinated by these stories and insisted that he write them down. In the second year, Carol finished the creation of these stories and gave the story manuscript to Alice as a Christmas gift, entitled "A Christmas Gift for Dear Children: Commemorating a Summer Day". Carol's manuscript was returned to the British Library after World War II.

When this manuscript first appeared in public view, many people were surprised to find that Carol not only wrote these stories by hand, but also attached 37 hand-painted illustrations, but these illustrations were never published.

When Carol decided to publish these stories into a book, he probably thought that his illustration skills were not good enough, so he did not use the illustrations in the manuscript, but hired the famous political illustrator SirJohnTenniel to create illustrations for the book.

Sir John Tenniel's illustration style is grotesque, grotesque, with thick lines and even gloomy. Why did the author choose this satirical cartoon to depict a group of children's books? We don't know.

At the beginning of the 20th century, after the copyright expired, different styles of Alice appeared. Some illustrators choose more gloomy materials and heavy interpretations than John Tenniel, such as the following illustration of Arthur Rackham 1907.

On the other hand, some people present this children's book in a relatively traditional illustration style. The characters and backgrounds in the book all adopt a sweet and gentle style, which is closer to children's aesthetics.

I was also lucky enough to find Carol's diary that day, which was cursive and different from what was printed in the manuscript.

On that day, he recorded some strange fairy tales that he told Alice and her sisters. This is Alice in Wonderland. This book is an endless mystery to me, and so is its author, Carol, who has a complicated personality. We'll tell this story later.

How to do hand-drawn books for primary school students Generally speaking, there are four steps to make books by yourself.

Written language is the soul of a book, and primary school students' self-made books have their own particularity. They can't have a high degree of text generality and pure written language expression like adult books. They should reflect the true thoughts of primary school students and the unique language expressions of their age, and fully show the charm of primary school students' nursery rhymes.
