About history: History of China in Cambridge edited by Harvard University professor, Macro History of China-China written by Chinese American Mr. Huang Renyu, fifteen years of Wanli (1587, meaningless year: declining Ming Dynasty), tax stations and government finance in the Ming Dynasty in the 1960s, and History of China in Cambridge is very famous, but it is not convenient to comment because it has not been read. I have only read Fifteen Years of Wanli and Finance and Taxation of China in the 16th Century. These two books are certainly academic compared with those of the Ming Dynasty, but Fifteen Years of Wanli is relatively easy to understand. Chinese versions of these books are easy to find in the market, but English versions may be more difficult.
As for culture, I recommend the book written by Lin Yutang. Most of Lin Yutang's books are in English, and all the Chinese versions on the market are translated by others. For example, My Country and My People, which once caused great repercussions in the United States, made the best-seller list in the United States and let westerners know about China at that time. Both Chinese and English versions of this book are available in the market. It is said that the Chinese version was translated by Lin Yutang. Please ask my brother to help me translate it. Some people think the translation is elegant, while others think it is antique. As for the English version, it was published by FLTRP.
