Jinzhong University, formerly known as Jinzhong Teachers College, was founded in 1958. Jinzhong University covers an area of 824,700 square meters, with a building area of 5 1.66 million square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is nearly one hundred million yuan. There are 975,000 books in the library, including 975,000 paper periodicals 1.322 kinds and electronic books 1.65 thousand kinds.

The school has a standard 400-meter plastic track and other sports facilities, equipped with a large number of advanced audio-visual equipment and experimental equipment such as language lab, computer room and multimedia classroom. Faculty 194, full-time teachers 120, including 55 senior lecturers and 60 intermediate lecturers, more than 90% of whom have bachelor degree or above.

The school has three disciplines: humanities, basic and clinical, and has 27 teaching and research sections. There are five majors in clinical medicine, nursing, midwifery, stomatology and medical laboratory technology, all of which are three-year majors (counterpart education) at the starting point of high school.
