In this China people's heroic war against the invaders, the Japanese army not only pursued the "three-light policy" of "killing everyone, burning everyone and robbing everyone", but also "created" the most inhuman army in history-the Japanese Army 73 1 Bacteriological War Force.
198 1 year 1 1 month, the famous Japanese writer Seiichi Morimura published the book "The Feast of the Devil-The Secret of Japan 73 1 Bacteriological Warfare Force" in Japan. The author spent more than 10 years, risking his life to interview the former 73 1 unit, traveled across the ocean to the United States, painstakingly excavated a large number of secret files of the United States and Japan, and went to China for field verification, which completely uncovered the whole picture of the live experiment conducted by the 73 1 germ warfare unit in China and the horror of germ warfare, causing great shock in the international arena.
Today, 78 years later, when we open the Chinese translation of "The Feast of the Devil-The Secret of Japan 73 1 Bacteriological Warfare Force" published by Academy Press, the truth that has been covered up for many years is shocking. Among them, there are many kinds of terrorist torture beyond the limits of human phenomena. ....
In order to completely control the people of China, the 73 1 troops practiced "terror politics". The executive organ of this kind of terrorist politics is a torture station called' Yamen Courtyard' located about half a mile north of 73 1 Army. "yamen" refers to government agencies. I want to talk about what I'm doing there.
"The yamen courtyard is located in Tiger Village. Laohutun (Laowutun) means labor service class, formerly known as Zhenghuangqi Wutun. From the outside, it is an ordinary house: it is surrounded by earth walls, with grass growing on the roof and a bungalow. I was ordered to repair the house and went into the house once. The house is about 7 meters long from east to west and 6 meters wide from north to south. * * * There are five rooms. One room is the office of the working class, two rooms are separated into one, and the other four rooms are filled with many instruments of torture.
"China workers are most afraid of' box bed punishment'. What punishment is this?
"There is a wooden bed in a room of the yamen compound, and iron rings are installed on the corresponding positions of hands and feet on both sides of the bed. Let the prisoner lie on his back on the wooden bed, fix his hands and feet with iron rings, and then tie the bed with ropes.
"Put people in a wooden box and fix the whole head in the position of the pillow. When the prisoner's head was put into the wooden box, the interrogator splashed water on the prisoner's face with a bucket, and the water in the wooden box was more and more close to his nose and mouth; Pour water into it again, and the water level will pass through the nose and mouth. I want to look up. My head has been stuck in the mouth of the wooden box and has become a shackle. My hands, feet and body are also fixed on the bed, and I can't move at all.
"When the water level rose to the height of his face, the prisoner even inhaled air with water, and then suffocated violently. When he suffocated, he poured water in ... and then the interrogator poured water in. If this continues, the prisoner will lose consciousness. Let the prisoner get out of bed at this time and wake him up. Using this method, the prisoner can suffer extraordinary pain, but it will not harm the prisoner's body (it will not hinder his work). Its purpose is not to kill Chinese workers, but to make them obey through terrorist means.
"Anyone who is absent from work for more than three days, for whatever reason, will be punished by the box bed. Because many people carry out this punishment, the iron ring on the bed is not rusty at all, and it is polished. The effect of this punishment is obvious, and fewer people are absent. "
The "box bed punishment" mentioned in Bai's testimony is the development of "soaking in water" before the Edo era in Japan. "Soaking in water" means tying the prisoner to a ladder and then slowly putting him into a deep pool with the ladder. At first, the prisoner forbeared with his mouth closed, but he had to take a sip of water every time he breathed. After a while, his stomach bulged, and then he lifted the ladder upside down to let the prisoner spit out the water.
The "box bed punishment" of 73 1 Army, which caused great pain to prisoners with a small amount of water, can be said to be more "scientific" than "soaking in water". Throwing into the cesspool mentioned earlier in this book is also a kind of "dung punishment" used in early Japan.
"Both torture beds and wooden cases are designed by the Japanese and made by carpenters in China. People who have been tortured in China or who have seen such instruments of torture in China all hate the personnel of 73 1 Army. In addition, many people in China were subjected to atrocities by the personnel of 73 1 Force.
"There is an old worker named Xing in China. Because of stuttering, he couldn't answer fluently when the guard asked him. He was beaten unconscious, wearing boots with nails and having a nervous breakdown.
"A man named Sun Jihong came to Tiger Tun to look for the lost pig, where there were many pigsty. When he was looking for his pig, Kudo of 73 1 Army found him. Kudo asserted that Sun Jigong had come to steal the pig, pointed a gun at his head, and hooked the trigger to make a gesture of shooting. Although Sun survived, he soon died of shock and mental disorder.
"There is also a man named Jiang Fengming in Santun, who got lost and walked into the' forbidden zone' of 73 1 unit and was arrested. He suffered from' box bed punishment' and got a neuropathy, which has never been cured. "

The Feast of the Devil —— The Secret of Japanese 73 1 Bacteriological Warfare Force
Since the end of 2008, Academy Publishing House has given nearly 1,000 units, including university libraries, museums, anti-Japanese war sites, memorial halls, historical research departments, Japanese research institutions and so on, the three volumes of "Feast of the Devils-Revealing Japan 73 1 Bacteriological Warfare Force", which have attracted much attention due to the disclosure of a large number of confidential files. Some experts, scholars, translators and enthusiastic netizens who have long been concerned about Japanese issues are also among the recipients.
The Devil's Feast-Revealing Japan's 73 1 Bacteriological Warfare Force is written by Seiichi Morimura, a famous Japanese writer.
Mr. Seiichi Morimura, the author of The Devil's Feast, finished this book under unimaginable pressure from outside. His integrity, courage and tenacity are admirable. Facts have proved that friends of China people all over the world, including Japanese friends, are trying to restore the historical truth. The first version of The Devil's Feast was translated in Fu Zi in 2003, and the second and third versions were also translated in 2004 and 2005 respectively, but they were never dedicated to readers. The reason is that the translator was first authorized by the author, Mr. Seiichi Morimura. Later, there appeared an "agent" who left no real information except the email, claiming that the authorization was invalid. Since then, although the College Press has tried its best to contact Mr. Seiichi Morimura about the granting of copyright, due to some pressure in Japan, this issue has not been clearly resolved. Facing all kinds of difficulties and obstacles, Xueyuan Press insists that the people of China have the right to know the crimes committed by 73 1 troops in China. Therefore, we not only bear all the publishing expenses, but also decide to give the Chinese version of The Richness of the Devil to some university libraries, anti-Japanese war memorial halls, relevant historical research departments, Japanese research institutions, experts, scholars and translators who have long been concerned about Japanese issues for free.
After giving The Feast of the Devil to the above-mentioned institutions and individuals, College Press also gave this set of books to some enthusiastic netizens, who left their own opinions and real contact information on their websites and blogs.
As a publishing house, it is the responsibility of the publishing house to let as many readers as possible in China, especially young readers, know about history, remember it and prevent it from repeating itself.

Puppet Palace Museum
First of all, thank you very much for your free reading, and also thank you for the translation of the Chinese version, which has provided great help for my research on the history of Japanese aggression against China and the evil of the Japanese Kwantung Army 73 1 unit.
Maoshan Mountain New Fourth Army Memorial Hall
A good book to preserve history, manage politics and educate people: Thank you very much for the full set of "The Feast of the Devil" given to our library by Academy Press. The crimes committed by the Japanese aggressors are too numerous to mention. The publication and gift of this book is a powerful exposure to the crimes of the Japanese aggressor troops and a powerful counterattack against the Japanese extreme right. However, these are not enough. I hope that colleagues in the Anti-Japanese War Museum and the history circle will unite and assist, and make more achievements to preserve history and be an official and educate people. Thanks again for the gift from College Press!
Nanjing University Library
History can never be forgotten and should be known to more people. It is suggested that the scope of free reading should be extended to middle school libraries. Our library still wants to get two or three sets, because Nanjing is also the main place of Japanese aggression, killing so many compatriots.

After reading this book, I was greatly shocked by the living experiment conducted by the Japanese Kwantung Army Manchuria 73 1 Bacteriological warfare troops in China and the terrorist crimes of bacteriological warfare. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to your club for persisting in publishing this book despite difficulties and obstacles, letting the people of China know about the crimes committed by the Japanese 73 1 troops and giving it to our library for free.
