The predecessor of Hebei University of Technology is Beiyang Technical School, which was founded in 1903. Now it has developed into a "2 1 1 project" national key construction university jointly established by Hebei Provincial People's Government, Tianjin Municipal People's Government and Ministry of Education, and was selected as "National First-class University Construction" in Hebei Province in 20 16.

The school has 2,600 teaching and administrative staff, including nearly 1600 full-time teachers. In recent years, the school has introduced and trained 8 national-level talents, including "Changjiang Scholars", winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund and leading talents in scientific and technological innovation of the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program", and has more than 290 national-level teaching masters.

Langfang Branch is currently a provincial-level applied undergraduate college supported by Langfang Municipal People's Government. The campus is located in Langfang, an important node city of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, and the campus is located at Xinhua Road 199 in the main city. The campus covers an area of 200,000 square meters with a building area of 67,000 square meters.
