The library of Huaihai Institute of Technology was founded in 1985, including the main library, Tongguan branch library and Donggang College library. 1990 built an independent library with an area of 6,000 square meters; 1993, circulation and borrowing are managed by computer; In 2000, the library website was completed and became the first-class site of Tsinghua academic journal mirror station; 200 1, a new library with an area of more than 8,000 square meters was put into use; In 2002, it merged with the library of the former Institute of Chemical Technology; In 2003, it merged with the library of Ocean University. * * * There is a library building with an area of 23 164 square meters, and there are literature centers integrating reading and distribution, such as newspapers, back issues, new books, foreign languages, science and technology (I), science and technology (II), science and technology (III), social sciences, oceans, literature and art, and services such as teachers' research rooms, literature retrieval rooms, electronic reading rooms and listening rooms. It has 2 135 reading seats, 390 electronic reading rooms and 48 audio-visual rooms. By the end of August 2006, the total number of documents was 6.5438+0.4983 million, and the total number of paper documents was 6.5438+0.0203 million. By the end of 2006, the total number of paper documents reached 1.8 million. Tsinghua, VIP, Superstar, NPC copy materials, Wanfangbo master's thesis and other large Chinese databases and foreign language databases such as Elsevier, Springer Link and EBSCO have been introduced successively. The library is open for more than 80 hours a week, and some windows reach 98 hours. There are reader work department, information consultation department, document resources construction department, technology department, electronic document department and other institutions. Published 103 papers in official journals, including 35 core journals, and completed 2 provincial and college-level projects. In 2005, he won the first prize 1, the second prize 1 and the third prize 2 of the first academic achievement award of library and information science in our province.
