Responsible for the macro guidance and coordination of compulsory education in the city, and guide the work of ordinary high school education, preschool education and special education in the city; Guide the reform and training of teachers' education and teaching; Formulate local basic teaching documents and manage basic education textbooks as a whole; Responsible for moral education and ethnic education in primary and secondary schools in the city; Responsible for the city's primary and secondary school enrollment, examination and student status management; Guide the configuration and use of modern information technology, books and teaching instruments and equipment in primary and secondary schools; Organize and coordinate international educational cooperation and exchange and international promotion of Chinese; To guide school physical education, health and art education and teaching; Responsible for the entrance examination for junior high school graduates.

Drafting comprehensive education laws and regulations; To undertake the legality audit of the relevant regulatory documents of the bureau; To undertake relevant administrative reconsideration and administrative litigation; Supervise and guide the city's education system to govern education according to law; Responsible for the comprehensive management of school safety and public security.
