engineering college
The School of Engineering is located in the building community centered in Little Square, Bading, and includes space engineering, agricultural bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biochemical engineering, municipal civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, industrial system engineering, material engineering, mechanics and mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering and physics department (the physics department belongs to the School of Engineering and is the characteristic of Urbana-Champaign). Almost all of these majors rank in the top ten of American universities, and most of them rank in the top five.
The School of Engineering is the core of scientific research at Urbana-Champaign. In the early years, the school started with transistor technology invented by Professor john bardeen. With the vigorous development of the Department of Physics, new engineering majors and research institutes have been continuously separated. The School of Engineering has 26 research centers, 10 main laboratories and 9 affiliated projects. The college is also home to the National Supercomputing Center and the Advanced Rocket Simulation Center of the US Energy Agency. Grainger Engineering Library, funded by William Wallace Grainger, an alumnus of Electrical Engineering Department, is 1994 the largest and most advanced engineering library in the world.
College of Literature and Science
Urbana-Champaign has a huge college of arts and sciences, which was established in 19 13. The main office building is Lincoln Hall. Literature major and many science majors are affiliated to the college. The college's chemistry, psychology and public speaking majors are very prestigious in the United States. The Department of Mathematics at Urbana-Champaign is located in the Bell Tower, which is a place where mathematicians gather. Professor Hua, China and others once taught here. Although the department of mathematics and the department of physics are in different colleges, they have frequent academic exchanges with each other, and the intersection of mathematics and physics in the school is also quite prestigious.
Agricultural college
Urbana-Champaign is located in the agricultural reclamation area, and the agricultural college is also a major feature of the school and one of the best agricultural colleges in the United States. The Agricultural College has an animal laboratory and a small experimental field. At the same time, relying on the geographical conditions of the school located in the agricultural area of Illinois, the Agricultural College also has close cooperation with the surrounding agricultural areas to carry out research and experiments on genetically modified crops and green fuels. The building complex of Agricultural College is located in the South Square.
Business school/business school
Business school is one of the best business schools in America, with young teachers. The college offers a variety of courses and doctoral research topics.
Library college
Urbana-Champaign has the second university library in the United States after Harvard University, and it is also the largest public university library in the world, ranking first in the research direction of library and information science in the United States.
