Yangzhou Library currently has 34 staff members, including 5 deputy research librarians and 20 librarians. Establish Yangzhou Library Meiyuan Community, Baodai Community, Chunjiang Garden Club Branch, Literature and Reading Branch, and set up circulation points outside the library in military, schools, prisons and social welfare institutions. In 2003, the first phase of computer management system was completed and used, realizing automatic management and service and electronic reading. The continuous investment in computer network engineering will lay a good foundation for the realization of digital library.

Yangzhou Library is responsible for transmitting knowledge and information, carrying out social education, implementing knowledge projects, and preserving cultural heritage. It is also responsible for the professional guidance of public libraries and grass-roots libraries directly under five cities (counties) and the daily work of Yangzhou Library Society. Through the organization of mass organizations, extensive cooperation has been carried out among university libraries, public libraries and grassroots libraries, and academic exchange activities have been carried out, which has played an important role in realizing resources in the region.
