American Cadillac Award
Cadillac Award is the most important and highest honor award in American picture book industry. Named after Randolph Cardet Cot, the most important British illustrator in the19th century. Randolph Cardet Cote (1846- 1886) is one of the most outstanding illustrators in the "golden age" of British children's literature. The award mainly rewards "the most outstanding children's picture books in artistic expression and image interpretation". The evaluation criteria include the artistic skills of the picture, its appeal to children's readers, and the ability to interpret the image (that is, the interpretation of the theme, concept, plot, role and emotional atmosphere with images). The Cadic Prize is not for preaching, but for ensuring the literary quality of picture books. The contribution of Cadic Picture Book Award to children's literature affirms the artistic value of picture books. For readers, it provides a treasure house combining literature and art, which is enough for any treasure-hunting adult or child to return home with a full load.
