In June, 2000, 165438+ 10, our institute successfully cooperated with the University of Pittsburgh and held the first Sino-American international symposium on library and information science education in the digital age. Deans and department heads of more than 30 first-class libraries and information science schools at home and abroad, including Peking University, China Renmin University, Nanjing University, Pittsburgh University, Illinois University, University of North Texas and University of California, attended the meeting.
In April, 20001,the International Seminar on Distance Education between China and South Korea was successfully held.
From 2003 to 2005, the Institute successfully held three advanced research classes for Chinese and American librarians.
In 2005, the Institute successfully held an international symposium on library cooperation and resource sharing, during which it also held a forum for librarians of China University and signed the Wuhan Declaration on Library Cooperation and Resource Sharing, which had a far-reaching impact at home and abroad.
From June 5, 2006 to 10, our institute successfully held the second international symposium on library and information science education in the digital age. Experts from more than 40 first-class libraries and information schools at home and abroad, including Peking University in China, Renmin University of China, Nanjing University, Nankai University, Sun Yat-sen University, Washington University, Syracuse University, Taiwan Province University of Political Science in China and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, attended the meeting. The meeting also adopted the Action Proposal for the Education Direction of Library and Information Science Facing the Digital Age, and reached an understanding on the key issues of talent training in this field.
