The existing building area is more than 20,500 square meters, and the main body is the library structure. The new building under construction covers an area of 36,000 square meters. There are 22 stacks and 2 189 reading seats in the reading room.

The library is now divided into two libraries, one is located in Hunan Institute of Science and Technology East Campus, and its new library is located in Hunan Institute of Science and Technology South Campus (20 14 put into use).
