Hubei University of Medicine is an ordinary institution of higher learning that focuses on medicine, with the coordinated development of medicine, science, engineering and management. The school was founded in 1965, formerly known as Yunyang Branch of Wuhan Medical College, and started general undergraduate education in 1977. 1986 was renamed Yunyang medical college of Tongji medical university, and 1994 was renamed Yunyang medical college. 1996, the first batch passed the national undergraduate education evaluation at one time. In 2006, it passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education and obtained excellent conclusions. 20 10 was renamed Hubei Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The school is an important training base for medical and health personnel in the central and western regions of the country.
