Recently, I watched some videos to teach my parents to read picture books. Picture books are very expensive, at least 20-30 yuan, but very thin, so in order to give full play to the reading value of picture books, we should read them carefully. For example, what different people do in a picture, the video creator said, should guide children to read, watch and speak.

At that time, I felt a tight heart. Do I think picture books are necessary to be so utilitarian? But I can't tell you why. Then, I flipped through the book "Open the Eyes of Picture Books" by Matsumoto, the father of Japanese picture books. His views on picture books won my heart at two points:

1, reading picture books is to let children feel the joy of knowledge, not to acquire knowledge.

Many parents say they don't know what their children are thinking. In fact, in picture books, there are clues to understand children.

The author of this book is Mr. Matsujuzhi from Japan, an old grandfather who is nearly 100 years old. He is known as "the father of Japanese picture books", an influential master of picture book theory in the world, and an assessor of Asian Cultural Center of UNESCO ... He has written many books, the most famous of which is Momotaro. Does Momotaro know? Its influence in Japan is just like that of the Monkey King in China.

Mr. Song Juzhi believes that picture books are the spiritual bond between children and parents. Through picture books, children feel the joy of love and life, and parents can also get clues to understand their children.

Now, I want to share some key points in the book with you in detail. I hope that facing the topic of "how to read picture books" can also give you some new thinking and inspiration.

Many parents see that prodigies love reading and gain a lot of knowledge since childhood, and they mistakenly think that reading picture books is to let their children know more as soon as possible. Is that really the case?

At the 5th China Poetry Conference, Wang Hengyi's performance was amazing. He can read 3000 poems and recite more than 500 ancient poems when he is less than 6 years old. The host asked him, do you like ancient poems? Wang Hengyi's children replied:

"Yes, because grandma told me that these are the traditional cultures of China. Although I don't know what traditional culture means, I think it's quite interesting. "

This answer is very interesting. Children don't understand traditional culture, but they find it interesting. In his mind, it doesn't matter what traditional culture is. It is enough for him to find traditional culture interesting. If he likes it, he will have internal drive, and he can recite another 500 poems.

Rachel Carson, a famous American marine biologist, emphasized the importance of "feeling" in a sentence in her later work Miracle Perception.

Children in Wang Hengyi naturally "know" more than 500 poems, because they "perceive" the interest of traditional culture.

Do you know how children learn to speak? The author's explanation in the book is wonderful:

The same is true of knowledge, which is not instilled, but slowly sucked into the body by children themselves. The knowledge instilled only reaches the brain, not the heart. If you just indoctrinate, children will eventually hate learning and become more and more stupid.

What is the real picture book reading experience like? The author put it this way:

1. From this explanation, we can see that the real picture book experience emphasizes the initiative of children.

If children like to read picture books, first of all, adults can't help them judge the quality of picture books.

The picture book Little Blue and Yellow is one of the classic children's picture books. The pictures in the picture book are extremely simple. Sometimes a page, a yellow color block and the words "I am Xiao Huang" are all gone, which makes many mothers feel at a loss. Will the children like it? Can you understand?

When the book was first published, critics didn't like it either. The New York Times once commented that this book is very suitable for architects and designers to give gifts to each other. I didn't expect to recommend it to children, but when children saw this book, they found that our judgment was completely wrong.

The author's feelings are similar to those of The New York Times. So he went to new york Library to inquire about the book, and the other party told him that the children really liked it.

Look, adults all over the world have guessed wrong! Like it or not, only children know. Only by reading their favorite picture books can children be more involved and create, and the real picture book experience is to ask children to create again.

A story was shared in the book. A kindergarten teacher read the story of the wolf and seven lambs to the children. Everyone may have heard the story: seven lambs were waiting for their mother at home, and the wolf broke in and ate them. The mother wolf came back, cut open the wolf's belly, rescued the lamb, stuffed the stone back into the wolf's belly and sewed it up.

At this time, a child listened and asked, "where is father wolf?" The kindergarten teacher was stunned on the spot.

Later, the child took the picture book home and turned it page by page carefully. Later, he found that in the ninth picture of the picture book, there was a photo frame with Father Sheep inside. The children said that Father Sheep might be dead.

It turned out that the child's father went to work far away and rarely came back. Seeing this picture book triggered his thinking and gave him a unique interpretation.

Children have their own understanding of stories. Even a painting can create a story. Therefore, when adults read picture books to their children, they don't need too much interpretation, leaving room for them. Too much reading will interrupt children's imagination.

2. Let children have a real picture book experience, and adults also need to read picture books well.

The sound is magical. Dong Qing has a very famous program "The Reader". Many people say that they don't feel anything when they read, but they cry when they read and listen.

It is the same for children to listen to adults reading picture books. Whether adults read well or not directly affects children's picture book experience. Whether adults like this story or not, whether they really understand it, will be subtly reflected in tone, pause and expression, which will affect children's understanding. For example, a child might think:

"I feel that my mother is very excited to read this story. This story must be very interesting. " "Oh, that's it. Is there something magical going to happen? " Wait a minute.

How do you read it? The author suggests that adults, like children, look at pictures before they can read. When you look at a picture, you should capture the details in it. After reading the picture carefully, we can better understand the child's mumbling and the pause on the child's finger, and we can adjust the rhythm of reading the story appropriately.

Then read the text, not silently, but by pronunciation. The words in picture books are generally rhythmic, and you can really feel the magic of sound when you read them. The text of the picture book was originally for parents to read to their children.

Having said that, we know that in the process of reading picture books, children will not only listen, see, but also re-create and form their own unique understanding; In addition, for children to have a better reading experience, it is also important for adults to study hard. Some parents may feel that they didn't expect to read a picture book so tired! But when you know the story behind the picture book, you won't think so.

Let's listen to a story first.

There is a 2-year-old girl who is ill. She has been lying in the hospital bed, uncomfortable and lonely. Her father sees it in his eyes and hurts in his heart. Thinking of the story of his daughter's favorite sleeping beauty, he drew it and gave it to her as a birthday present.

The story is not over yet. The little girl opened the picture book and saw a cat beside the sleeping beauty. "Oh, Dad, this little princess likes cats, just like me!" "Then I saw a small city:" Dad, this town looks like our hometown. I am homesick! Dad, the princess and the prince are married. Look at this wedding cake. That's great. This is my favorite giant cake! "

Dad put everything his daughter likes into his works. This father is a famous picture book painter Hoffman. His classic works Wolf and Seven Sheep and Sleeping Beauty are gifts for his sick daughter.

Feel the gentle love of my father behind the picture book. Would you like to read it to your children several times?

The author Mr. Song Juzhi also shared his publishing experience in the book.

When Mr. Song Juzhi was an editor, he got a good story and wanted to find a powerful painter to paint it. He found Mao Wu and went to visit him at his home. Unexpectedly, Mr. Tian Mao's wife stopped him before he entered the door: "My husband is very ill and can't work."

Loose in listening to the faint cough, very depressed. Just as he was about to leave, a hoarse voice came: "I'll take this job."

I first met Mau tian teacher. He was lying in a hospital bed, weak, haggard and miserable. Teacher Mao Tian said, "I want to paint cellist Gao Xiu.". If I can draw this painting, I will die. " Matsuzaka was in a dilemma, but Mau tian teacher insisted on taking the job.

When writing, there is always a puppet beside tian teacher's bed. In order to draw this work well, he fiddled with the puppet, while conceiving the shape of the protagonist, panting and drawing.

At that time, Song Juzhi was still a newcomer. After reading Mao tian teacher's manuscript, I found that the cover was a little gloomy, so I had the cheek to mention it. I didn't expect Mau tian teacher to accept it gladly and endure the pain to modify it.

After the publication of Cellist Takamasa, it became an instant hit and became one of the classic picture books in Japan. Half a year later, Teacher Mao Tian died of perennial asthma at the age of 42.

Behind the picture book is the artist's strong willpower and persistence in art.

Mr Matsumoto himself has been engaged in editing and publishing for 50 years, and he is very serious about his work. Once, as a cognitive picture book of traffic, he invited an artist with animation experience and a good understanding of machinery to draw illustrations, trying to convey the sense of movement, speed and mechanical texture of cars.

He succeeded. After reading the picture book, the child did not mechanically read: "This is a car", but enthusiastically said: "Ah, the original car is so interesting!"

By trying to understand the story behind the picture book, we can learn more than the picture book, that is, rigor, dedication and love for children. As parents, looking at these picture books that have condensed the painstaking efforts of countless people, what we can do is to read them to our children as repeatedly and attentively as possible to show our respect.

Many parents are keen to read picture books to their children, which is a good thing, but we should pay attention to leaving some space for our children. Many people say that "reading picture books is thick", but I think that reading thick means that children read thick. If we adults read this book too carefully, there will be no room for children to think and no fun for children to find.

Children always like to turn over a picture book again and again. Why? Because every time they turn it over, they can find new things and have new feelings. This is the fun of reading, but if adults finish reading it, it will kill the fun.

In addition, the understanding of adults and children is different. We can share our understanding, but we don't force our children to agree with us. If you always let your children understand your answers, what is the difference between the standard answer test and those annoying tests? Do such children really like learning and know how to learn? I deeply doubt it.

Reading should be a more free thing, let us find ourselves from books and feel the pleasure of reading.

Many parents say that they don't understand their children more and more, and they have tried to put themselves in their children's shoes, but with little success.

Then, adults should also read picture books together. Adults will meet their childhood selves when reading. When they think "Yes, I thought so when I was a child" and "I am so angry with my mother", will they become more understanding of children?

Reading picture books with children and harvesting love together is the real mission of picture books, at least, I think so.

I am a second-born treasure mother who loves reading @ Jingjing Jingjing. I share the reading experience of parents and children every day and deeply interpret picture books. There is also a one-year-old Dabao and a two-year-old Bauer, so many practices are also around children of this age. Welcome attention.
