Chongqing University (CQU) is located in Chongqing. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Chongqing Municipality and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "2 1 1 project" and "985 project". The school was founded on 1929, and 1942 became a comprehensive university.
