Content abstract: The Classic of Mountains and Seas is an ancient book of China, which introduces many mountains, rivers and countries in simple language. Its "age" is a mystery, and so is its author. Its content seems to be clear to later readers, but it has strong comparability and uncertainty. The Classic of Mountains and Seas consists of 18 volumes. The first five volumes are Nanshan Classic, Xishan Classic, Beishan Classic, Dongshan Classic and Zhongshan Classic, which are collectively called Wuzang Mountain Classic. Each Buddhist sutra is divided into several groups. For example, the first group of Nanshan Jing is called Nanshan Jing, the second group is called Nanci Erjing, and so on, with Zhongshan Jing to Zhongci Twelve Jing being the most.

Highlight: As one of the oldest extant books, Shan Hai Jing, with its unique narrative style with pictures and texts, pioneered the tradition of compiling books in ancient China.
