1September, 1986, enrollment began, with 20 classes in senior high school and junior high school, 1000 students. 1988 enrolled 36 classes in junior and senior high schools with students 1800 students. In August, 2009, Haojiang District Education Bureau merged Dahao Central Primary School and Town No.2 Primary School in combination with the school layout adjustment, and made the vacated Dahao Central Primary School building as the new campus of Dahao Overseas Chinese Middle School, and the junior middle school of Dahao Overseas Chinese Middle School moved to the new campus as a whole.
On August 17, 2009, Dahao Huaqiao Middle School held the unveiling ceremony of the new campus, and the new campus officially began to operate. The official opening of the new campus will enable Dahao Huaqiao Middle School to realize a new pattern of running high schools and junior high schools, and the junior high school of Dahao Huaqiao Middle School will be moved to the new campus as a whole, thus realizing the school-running pattern of "one school, two districts, one team and unified management". The new campus covers an area of 17.8 mu, with a building area of 1 1392 square meters. According to the district education plan and the enrollment plan for the new school year, after Dahao Overseas Chinese Middle School is divided into high school and junior high school in the new school year, the headquarters will set up nearly 40 high school classes with more than 2,600 students. The new campus will set up 3 1 junior middle school classes with more than 2 100 students. There will be more than 4700 students in high school and junior high school. The school will take the official opening of the new campus as an opportunity to continuously increase the establishment of provincial schools and strive to become provincial key schools as soon as possible. The new campus is located in the west of Jiang Yan Road, covering an area of 17.8 mu, with a building area of 1 1392 square meters, and functions as a junior middle school. High school is still located in this campus.

2011117 was promoted to be a first-class school in Guangdong province, and an unveiling ceremony was held. The school has long undertaken the main task of the college entrance examination in the whole region. It is the only school in the whole region that has set up a designated examination room for the unified national education examination, and the quality of education and teaching has been continuously improved. In recent years, the scores of college entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination have achieved a historic leap under the circumstances of low starting point of students and fierce competition from schools around the country. Under the condition of relatively low quality of students, the school has always maintained a high gold content in college entrance examination scores and good results in a large area. The senior high school entrance examination also continued to have a bumper harvest in a large area, the high stratification remained thick, and the proportion of top students and the enrollment rate rose steadily. It presents a good situation that the teaching quality of junior high school and senior high school goes hand in hand, and always maintains a high return on investment in mass education, and gradually forms a good situation of "low entry and high output, excellent output in agriculture". The results of college entrance examination jumped to the forefront of middle schools in Shantou city, ranking first among all middle schools in the whole region, with strong social repercussions and being commended and rewarded by the municipal and district party and government in successive years.
