This book was written by Dave Bond and translated by Xu Jingyuan and Rong Jie. I thought this book was a comprehensive introduction to artificial intelligence. When I read it, I realized that this book mainly introduces the problems brought by the research and development of artificial intelligence. It should be regarded as the enlightenment book of artificial intelligence, which helps us to have a basic understanding of artificial intelligence. However, in order to deeply understand the principle of artificial intelligence, we need to start with other books. Let me talk about my feelings after reading this book.
This book is divided into five chapters, including what artificial intelligence is, the consciousness and mood of machines, how artificial intelligence affects the whole society, the ethical issues of intelligent machines and the future of artificial intelligence. In addition to the text, each chapter also includes key words, knowledge window, advanced reading, thinking at the end of the chapter, educational videos, research projects and other columns, among which the columns that impressed me the most are key words, such as intelligence, artificial intelligence, artificial neural network, humanoid robots, drones, ethics and so on. Through the interpretation of key words, I have a real understanding of many terms. At ordinary times, some terms seem obvious at a glance, but in fact they are just mine.
This book shows the relevant knowledge of artificial intelligence with a large number of cases. For example, in the case that hard coding can't successfully solve the intelligent problem, in addition to the mistake of "Fred (male name) shaving his head" committed by the famous "Cyc Project", it also lists examples of how humans and computers judge a car driving on the road; Regarding the explanation of "supervised learning and unsupervised learning", the book also shows the difference between giving and not giving labels by judging the type of vehicles, and makes readers better understand the difference between the two algorithms with simple and clear examples. In view of the influence of artificial intelligence in society, the book lists electronic devices implanted in cockroaches to remotely control the legs of moving insects, Jill Watson's virtual teaching assistant, "Watson" software to help diagnose and treat diseases such as cancer and heart disease, and military applications of U.S. drones and robot co-pilots. These show the application of artificial intelligence in society from different fields, provide us with various teaching cases and enrich our teaching resources.
