Why is the "Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Literature Reading Room" of Guohe Shoutou only allowed to be read by people with letters of introduction?
Because Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao are in a special political, economic and cultural environment, their literature resources are different from those of the mainland. In view of this, the National Library separated the reading of books in Hong Kong and Taiwan from the original Chinese reading room in 1987 and established the reading room in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Due to special reasons, generally only people with letters of introduction (bureau level or above) are allowed to enter.
