Travel alone
I was originally an otaku scholar, writing in a stuffy building of 12 square meters every day, and finished three volumes of drama monographs, which made me famous in the circle. These works are still the first choice of major drama schools. With these achievements, he also became the dean of Shanghai Theatre Academy. From a secular point of view, he can be described as a winner in life and has nothing to ask for. However, Yu decisively abandoned the prosperity of the world, resolutely gave up and embarked on a lonely journey.
In Yu's other works, I often see a sentence: If I stop walking, I will stop thinking. This is how he felt after going out, but it really takes a lot of courage and confidence to take this step. Because he later became famous at home and abroad for writing cultural essays, but these essays have never been written or published before. What can be written and what will be the response are unknown.
But he is out.
Yu wrote down the pain of this choice in "Lend Me My Life". He once wandered, hesitated and lost, and went to Longhua Temple to realize the Tao every day. After the last big tooth was pulled out by the fan without anesthesia, he made up his mind that he could pull out his tooth without anesthesia. What difficulties could he overcome? The ancients paid attention to "reading thousands of books and traveling on Wan Li Road", Confucius traveled around the world, Li Bai wandered around, and Su Dongpo went to Hainan Island.
"Study tour" has become the only way for people with lofty ideals, the only hurdle to pass and the only place to pass. Confucius said that benevolent people enjoy Leshan, wise people enjoy water, people who seek wisdom can find happiness in the long river, people who cultivate benevolence can find happiness in the mountains, and a person standing on the top of the mountain overlooking the world can feel his own smallness, give birth to awe and humility, and realize the magic of the creator. When a person swims in a river and meets stormy waves again, he can have a sense of impermanence and gratitude and cherish every minute of his life. Confucius said: Time flies like running water, running day and night.
Yu said that when he was sitting at his desk studying thread-bound books, the footsteps of a group of great poets and scholars often sounded in his ears, which made his life interesting. In contrast, my life is so monotonous and embarrassing, life is consuming day by day, and knowledge is withering day by day. If spirit and body are always contradictory, depth and youth are always out of reach, and knowledge and games are always opposite, then when can we care about the self-improvement that human beings have longed for since ancient times? It is in this confusion that I stood up, left my desk, put on a long-distance love costume and pushed open the door of the study.
He didn't know where to go or how to get there, but he took the first step. I have been to many places, but he has never had the urge to write. Although some places can also cause some small touches, he didn't start writing until he came to Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. Chen Yinque said that Dunhuang is a sad history of Chinese academics. This feeling stems from the fact that when he was studying in Britain, he saw a large number of Dunhuang materials displayed in the museum. As intellectuals, Yu and Chen Yinque had an intersection here, resulting in a * * * sound and a sense of grief and indignation. He knelt in the yellow sand and screamed at the sky.
With the first one, there is the second one. Later, Yu slowly discovered where he should go: to the place where ancient culture and literati left deep footprints. These places are deeply branded with the imprint of China culture. Everywhere, there is always a heavy historical pressure hanging over his whole body, which makes him inexplicably moved and sighed. He often stands like a fool, sometimes full of chapters and sentences, sometimes full of blanks.
He stood in the direction that the ancients must have stood, looked at the natural landscape that rarely changed with black eyes similar to those of his ancestors, and listened to the sounds of the wind and birds that were no different from those of thousands of years ago. He thinks that the big city where I live has many libraries that collect ancient books and universities that teach ancient culture, but the real pace of China culture falls on this vast and desolate land. The earth is silent, as long as one or two shrewd literati come forward, its long-standing cultural connotation will be vigorously rushed out; Scholars are also weak. As long as you are wrapped in this rush, you can breathe for thousands of years.
Wherever I go, what I want to feel most is the feelings of the ancients, the feelings that have been lingering for thousands of years. For example, when I came to Lushan Mountain, I immediately thought of Li Bai's "Looking at Lushan Waterfall": Rizhao incense burner produces purple smoke, and the waterfall hangs in front of Sichuan. On the high cliff, it seems to be thousands of feet high, which makes people think that the Milky Way has fallen from heaven to earth. There is also Su Dongpo's "Title Xilin Wall": horizontally, the ridge side becomes a peak, and the distance is different. I can't recognize the true face of Lushan Mountain because I am there. He wrote: Lushan Mountain is the sustenance point for scholars in past dynasties to aspire to transcend the secular and realize cross-time communication.
When he saw the Lushan Waterfall with his own eyes, he was deeply shocked: from the towering top of the mountain, a huge screen rushed down, like the Yangtze River and the Yellow River hanging upside down. However, suddenly, it hit a boulder halfway up the mountain, which was deafening and the splashing water turned into fog. With a roar, it rushed down more violently, only to hit the second stone on the way. It can't hold it any longer, jumping wildly for a while and trying to rush down again for a while. At this time, it has become a mighty outlaw team, determined to make a final fight with the cliff.
It sank with the thunder, and below it was an unfathomable canyon. How was it killed? It's out of sight. No one knows its final destination, but it will never die, because we see that even if it is stopped and hit one by one, it will not spit out a whimper, but will only roar and growl. The rushing water sprayed on us and no one escaped. Instead, they all looked up, did not sigh, did not discuss, stood silently, revealing a wet life.
Vivid writing.
Mr. Yu's writing is vivid, jumping, immersed and unrestrained. After reading these hundreds of words, anyone who just closes his eyes can feel the waterfall flying from Lushan Mountain, and the deafening sound resounds through the sky. After seeing the real Lushan Waterfall and reading Li Bai's poems, I realized what it means to "fly straight down to thousands of feet, and it is suspected that the Milky Way has set for nine days".
I think this may be the meaning of tourism. Tourism is not simply "from a place where you are tired of staying to a place where others are tired of staying", but to find the meaning of life and culture, the outlet of your confused heart, the destination of your wandering heart and the destination of your unruly heart. Otherwise, wherever you go, there are vagrants and passers-by. What's the point?
In Zhouzhuang, Kunshan, I felt the charm of Jiangnan water town. A boat, a family, leisurely, unhurried, my husband is rocking the boat; The wife is cooking and the daughter is reading. Everyone is familiar with everything around them and doesn't want to look around. They just let the bright river take them where they want to go. "But I looked at my hometown, and the twilight was getting darker and the river waves were filled with sad mist." Yu said, I hope that one day, the melancholy homesickness floating in the hustle and bustle of the city can be gathered in countless elegant towns and cities, and China culture can achieve self-reliance in personality and geographical positioning. The ancient and modern people are integrated into one, so that the touching scenes of "knocking on the door of Lihua Village, shaking hands and making peace and watching tears" come one after another, and the whole land of China is covered with thousands of waters in Qian Shan in terms of cultural coordinates.
Mr. Yu's cultural prose has inspired waves of young people's dreams of "the world is so big, I want to see it". There are so many beautiful mountains and rivers, and those who meet more mountains and rivers will have broad horizons, lofty aspirations, broad minds and be modest in treating others. Will not be overwhelmed by temporary setbacks, nor will it be carried away by temporary success. Life is like green mountains and green waters, and the waves rise and fall, so is the world.
Experience the truth
Everyone should understand why he sought China culture in his arduous journey rather than in his research. Because there are some things in travel that you can't learn in your study. Nature is the best teacher. Heaven and earth are silent, but full of magnificent poems. There is a wordless gobbledygook in the mountains and rivers, waiting for us to decipher, comprehend, think and ponder. What you get on paper is so shallow that you never know what you have to do. No matter how well Li Bai wrote the Lushan Waterfall, it is better to go to Lushan and see it with your own eyes and experience the truth. No matter how beautiful the poet's description of the small town in the south of the Yangtze River is, you should experience the truth yourself.
After the fire, there was a joke. Along the way, Confucius wrote the Spring and Autumn Annals. Li Bai wrote many good poems along the way; Su Dongpo wrote many lofty words along the way; Along the way, Yu wrote many essays. Many people took a bunch of photos along the way, and some people scribbled a line in the place where they had been: XXX visited here.
Wang Shuo said that Yu just wrote some travel notes, which was nothing. With Wang Shuo's position in the literary world, of course, it can be said that. However, Jia Pingwa, who is also a literary giant, said that Yu "generously innovated", walked out of his own unique path and created his own unique style. Jin Yong also said that Zhejiang people can write articles, not counting me, but also Lu Xun and Yu.
Sima Qian said: Although I can't come, I yearn for it. Many of us are forced by life. Of course, we can't let go of everything to experience the arduous journey and seek culture like Yu, but we can "experience it in the cloud". This kind of experience is to read Mr. Yu's seven collections of cultural essays, such as Cultural Journey. When reading articles, we should pay attention to "image". If we have a heart and act as one, we can practice Wan Li, realize enlightenment and cultivate our morality.
