Subject librarian is the link between library and departments and disciplines, and the bridge between library and counterpart departments and disciplines. Subject librarians mainly serve teachers and graduate students.

First, the main tasks of subject librarians

Pay close attention to the dynamics of the departments and disciplines in charge, feed back the needs of departments, disciplines, teaching and scientific research to the relevant departments of the library in time, and provide relevant services in time.

1. Responsible for two-way contact with counterpart departments and specialties.

2. Publicize and promote library literature information resources, provide user guidance and training in various forms, and improve users' ability to use literature.

3. Inform counterpart departments and disciplines of new trends and new services of library resources in a timely manner.

4. Carry out in-depth reference consultation of subject literature information.

5. Establish a professional navigation library for network disciplines and provide topic selection services.

6. Regularly carry out readers' surveys and feed back users' demand information in time.

7. Provide personalized services and establish a "user personal library".

Subject librarians are mainly composed of people with bachelor degree or above and related subject background from the library consulting department and related departments.
