Zhejiang University, referred to as "Zhejiang University" for short, is a comprehensive national key university directly under People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Ministry of Education. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "2 1 1 project" and "985 project", and the central government is directly under the deputy ministerial system. It is a scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students studying in China, the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and an independent auditing unit authorized by degrees.
Zhejiang University was founded in 1897, and its predecessor was an academy. 1928, named National Zhejiang University. 1946 moved back to Hangzhou in autumn. During the national adjustment of colleges and universities from 65438 to 0952, most departments of Zhejiang University were transferred to brother universities and Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the main parts left in Hangzhou were divided into several single-subject colleges.
Later, it developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University.

Physics major has won three national-level "certifications" in succession, and 36 majors have been selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites.
