Tsinghua University library system consists of school library and six professional libraries, including humanities, economics and management, law, architecture, fine arts and medicine, with a total construction area of about 4 1.600 square meters and more than 2,500 reading seats. The total physical collection is about 3.76 million volumes (pieces), including more than 200,000 ancient books and a number of cultural relics such as Oracle Bone Inscriptions, bronzes, celebrity calligraphy and painting. In 2009, the library continued to adhere to the collection construction policy of paying equal attention to both physical collections and digital collections, and made appropriate adjustments to the procurement of literature resources, further reducing the number of foreign paper periodicals and increasing the number of Chinese books, electronic periodicals and electronic books. In 2001, there were more than 90,500 books in Chinese and foreign languages in Tibet's new collection, 48,000 kinds of full-text electronic periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages were available for school readers, and more than 2.475 million books in Chinese and foreign languages were available for reading. The quantity and utilization rate of electronic resources in this school continue to maintain the leading level of domestic universities. In 2009, 17 kinds of ancient books were selected into the National Catalogue of Precious Ancient Books.
The library has good network facilities, and it is the largest mirror service base for domestic universities, with more than 65,438+000 servers. The newly upgraded network supports IPv6 and 10Gigabit access, the desktop is a Gigabit port, and the wireless network covers the whole museum. The integrated management system of digital resources in the library realizes the fast and convenient "one-stop" retrieval of various resources in the library, and the remote access system of electronic resources enables readers to access electronics conveniently anytime and anywhere. In 2009, readers visited the library website 7.07 million times, inquired about the collection11237,500 times, accessed the electronic resources 3.25 million times through the academic resource portal, and logged into the off-campus access system to use the electronic resources 45 14 1000 times. The strong demand for library literature resources reflects the vigorous development of teaching and scientific research in this school. Professional libraries are playing an increasingly important role in the whole school's book and document guarantee system. In 2009, six professional libraries, namely, humanities, economics and management, law, fine arts, architecture and medicine, invested about one-third of the literature funds in the main library of the school, collecting 24,800 books, subscribing to 2 124 newspapers and periodicals, and borrowing 140 and 100 books. In 2009, the library conducted in-depth research on the design scheme, functional requirements, decoration style, furniture and equipment of the new humanities library and solicited opinions extensively. It is expected that the new humanities library will be completed and put into use on 20 1 1.
