Second, explain
ISBN, the book number, is the unique code of a 13 number, which is used all over the world. The book number is assigned to all publishing houses by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China, and it is the only identification sign of books and their publications. The domestic ISBN is also equipped with CIP data on the second page of the book (generally on the reverse side of the title page), also called copyright page, which are two indispensable data for publishing a book.
Third, the reason.
The book number is required because it is an international book or an independent publishing code, which allows readers, booksellers and libraries to easily identify and classify different books and improve the efficiency of book circulation. Only books with ISBN can be listed and widely promoted.
The application number is also a necessary condition for publishing a book. Books published without the ISBN of a regular publishing house can only be regarded as internal materials, and cannot be publicly released, let alone sold in bookstores. So the application number is very important for publishing a book.
Book number type
1,ISBN:
A book with a serial number assigned by a domestic publishing house can be publicly distributed in China and promoted in Xinhua Bookstore or secondary channels (wholesale and bookseller market).
2. Serial number:
A number designated by domestic publishing houses produces a series of books, usually 4 to 6, and some clubs can publish more. The names corresponding to their numbers are generally "what literary clusters" and "what libraries".
3. International Book Number:
The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is an international number specially used to identify books and other documents. ISO promulgated the ISBN international standard in 1972, and established the international ISBN center in the Prussian Library in West Berlin, which is the management institution for implementing the standard.
