What's the experience of going to college in Nanjing?
First, as a Jiangsu native, I had never been to Nanjing before 18 years old. Friends from other provinces may sound a bit ridiculous. But it is close to Shanghai from my home, so my impression of big cities has always been nothing more than Shanghai's straight city lines and Beijing's broad three-ring vision.

As for Nanjing, I have no impression. The only impression is probably from a newspaper in a certain year, which has a report about pandas in Hongshan Zoo.

Second, there are Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou beside Nanjing. These four cities have different tastes. People are creatures with a sense of belonging. It's hard to hear locals say it's not good here in these cities. Comparatively speaking, the history of Nanjing is heavier than that of Shanghai and Hangzhou, or rather, heavier. This special history makes Nanjing feel oppressive from all corners. Besides memorial halls and Yuhuatai, such as Jinling Manufacturing Bureau, pukou railway station and Taicheng near Xuanwu Lake, there are historical echoes everywhere.

Nanjing has campuses all over the city. From Xianlin to Jiangning, from Gulou to Pukou, there are patches of university campuses everywhere.

The most famous campus is Sipailou Campus of Southeast University. I went there once with my friends in late autumn last year, and the whole campus was stained with golden yellow. It is a kind of golden color that only belongs to late autumn, and it has a hundred years of heavy historical and cultural charm. Under the towering French phoenix tree, the front wheel of the bicycle ran over the scattered leaves. On the wooden bench next to it, the boy is holding a guitar and the girl is wearing a goose yellow halter top.

Nanda people are somewhat envious of the four archways. Sipailou is an eternal belief in the hearts of the older generation of Nanda people and southeast people, just like the unnamed lake is to Peking University.

Just a few blocks away from Sipailou is the Gulou Campus of Nanjing University, which used to be the site of Jinling University. When I first came to the North Building, I didn't quite understand the meaning of blue bricks covered with lush ivy. Later, I saw photos of graduates from NTU, followed by Peking University Building. I think I understand. Everyone's university needs a building that can bear memories. I often complain about my major, and at this time I have a sense of responsibility and mission.

On the side are Hohai University Gulou Campus and Nanjing Normal University Suiyuan Campus. Most universities in Nanjing have new campuses in Xianlin, Jiangning or Pukou. Most of them are big and new, but, as some people say, they lack the flavor of the university and the sense of space interleaving between teachers and students in the university. If you have the opportunity to study in the old campus of Gulou for one or two years, you will be quite happy.
