The Institutional Functions of the Library of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
The library has an office, an editorial department, a book lending department, a periodical reading department, an information consulting department and a modern technology department.

The editorial department is responsible for the construction of the library collection system. Its core task is to reasonably purchase books according to the school's discipline and specialty settings and the reading needs of teachers and students, and to efficiently complete the cataloging, processing and warehousing of books by using wireless mobile terminal technology, so that scattered documents can be searched and used by readers in an orderly manner. The book lending department has a medical book lending hall (book collection130,000 volumes), a comprehensive book lending hall (book collection 2 10/0,000 volumes), a foreign language book lending hall for literature, history and philosophy (book collection 200,000 volumes), a Chinese book lending room and an ancient books room. The book lending service is open-shelf lending. Readers can find their own books in the open-shelf area, and they can also retrieve various collections of documents through the book inquiry system. The periodical reading department has medical and foreign periodicals and newspaper reading rooms (displaying more than 600 kinds of periodicals, more than 70 kinds of newspapers and 43,000 back issues) and comprehensive periodical reading rooms (displaying more than 500 kinds of periodicals with 654.38+07,000 bound volumes). Readers can choose their own newspapers to read in the room or search the collected periodicals through the public inquiry system. The information consulting department has a reference reading room (displaying 3,000 reference books to answer various questions encountered by readers in the process of using the library) and a study room. The modern technology department has a central computer room, a digital resource processing room (equipped with two graphic workstations and scanning and photographing equipment for processing all kinds of literature resources), an electronic reading room (which can provide information browsing, database retrieval and other services), an audio-visual reference room (with 28,000 CDs, tapes and videos) and a library lecture hall (equipped with simultaneous interpretation technology, with a venue size of 500 people).
