What are the types of colored paintings recorded in Creating French Style?
There were many patterns of colored paintings in the Song dynasty, from which we can see some situations of colored paintings at that time. Compared with the later feudal period, the central part is one-third larger, and the two ends are not tied or changed, which is a decorative technique of wishful head shape.

It is difficult to find the original works of ancient colored paintings from the buildings left before 13 century, mainly because of the repairs of past dynasties, and colored paintings are the easiest place to redraw. In the 200-300 years before "French architectural style", according to textual research, there are about two types:

1. With warm colors as the keynote, it may be the predecessor of "architectural French" (simple), or it may be multi-color painting (more particular).

For example, the eaves of several caves in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes in the early Song Dynasty were all made of red soil, but the rafters were surrounded by bundles of green lotus flowers, and the buckets were made of green and white flowers. Although the building is small, it is still rich in colors.

2. Based on the cool color, it may be the predecessor of a kind of color painting such as "architectural French".

For example, the color paintings of the eaves and beams of the Bhagavan Sect's Tibetan Hall in Xiahuayan Temple in Datong have no headband layout, and it is a feature to like to use mesh patterns. Before the Tang dynasty, there were few wooden relics, and the legacy of color painting was even harder to find.
