The National Science and Technology Library (NSTL) is a virtual science and technology literature information service organization established on June 6, 2000 according to the instructions of the leaders of the State Council. Its members include the Literature Information Center of China Academy of Sciences, the Engineering Technology Library, the Library of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Library of China Academy of Medical Sciences. Online institutions include China Institute of Standardization and China Institute of Metrology.

Main tasks:

Coordinate, collect domestic and foreign scientific and technological literature information resources completely, formulate data processing standards and norms, establish scientific and technological literature database, provide multi-level services by using modern network technology, promote the establishment of scientific and technological literature information resources, organize the in-depth development and digital application of scientific and technological literature information resources, and carry out cooperation and exchanges at home and abroad.
