5cm per second is a realistic animation created by Makoto Shinkai, which was officially released in Japan on March 3rd, 2007.

Animation takes a teenager as the story axis and develops three consecutive animated short stories. The time background is from 1990 to modern Japan, and the changes in Tokyo and other regions are shown through the life of teenagers. [1] The first sentence "Sakura Copy" describes the love mood of Gui Shu and Li Ming when they were young, and the day they met again. The second sentence "Astronaut" describes the life of Guishu and Li Ming from the perspective of Chengtian Miao Hua. Chengtian has a good impression on Guishu who entered high school. Due to the transfer of parents, Toono takaki transferred to a primary school in Tokyo. A year later, Shinohara akari also transferred to the same class. They prefer to stay alone in the library because they are sick and not good at sports. Although young, they are still attracted to each other, and their existence in their hearts gradually becomes irreplaceable. However, their intimate world ended sadly because of Li Ming's transfer. Since then, Guishu has been trying to adapt to the world without understanding. But in the summer of grade one in middle school, when Gui Shu received a letter from Li Ming, his feelings suddenly reappeared. They began to write to each other and were glad to be able to communicate with each other again. That winter, Guishu was ready to be transferred to a far place. Farther than now, we may never see it again. So the two agreed in the letter: After school, Guishu will take a tram to Yanzhou Station in Tochigi County where Li Ming is located, and the meeting time is 7 pm.
