Library: The new Nanchong Library was completed and put into use in May 2008, with an area of 8,000 square meters. The loan department, periodical reading room, electronic reading room, children's reading room, reader's study room and multifunctional studio have been opened to readers. There are 400 seats for adults and children. The library has more than 420,000 books and periodicals. Among them, there are more than 40,000 well-preserved books in local newspapers such as North Sichuan Daily and Nanchong Daily, which provide unique and precious documents for understanding and studying the political, economic, cultural and folk customs changes in North Sichuan and Nanchong since liberation, and for discovering and studying the traces of great men and celebrities such as Zhu De, Zhang Lan and Hu Yaobang who were born in Nanchong and worked and lived in North Sichuan. There are more than 85,000 book-bound ancient books, 74 kinds and 76 kinds of rare ancient books 1089, and 3,744 book-bound local chronicles 143 193 (90 kinds in the province and 53 kinds outside the province). Our library receives more than 80 thousand readers every year, and the circulation of books and periodicals remains above 300 thousand. In April, 2005, in cooperation with China Telecom Nanchong Branch, the national cultural information resource sharing project in our city was launched, and the website of Nanchong Library was established, which opened the links between Nanman Center and provincial and national centers of the cultural information resource sharing project, greatly expanding the business service space.
