Gannan Normal University, located in zhanggong district, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is a provincial undergraduate university with the right to confer master's degrees. The school was founded in June 1958, when it was Gannan Normal University. 1959, changed to Gannan Normal University to recruit undergraduates. 1964 was restored to Gannan Normal University. Since then, the name of the school has changed many times. 1984 was restored to Gannan Normal University.

The main campus is located in the Golden Campus and Baita Campus. As of August 20 15, the school covers an area of about 2,000 mu, with a construction area of nearly 700,000 square meters.
