On February 23rd, 1949, China made a decision to designate June 1 day as Children's Day. On June 1, 1950, President Mao Zedong personally wrote "Celebrating Children's Day" for Children's Day. This year is the 52nd Children's Day since the founding of New China. On the Origin of Children's Day

Whenever "June 1st" International Children's Day, children are happily celebrating their own festivals. Those smiling faces and songs are full of happiness and joy. But do you know the origin of this "June 1" festival? Do you know that Children's Day was decided because countless children in the world lost their lives in the war?

That was during the Second World War. In June of 1942, German fascists shot and killed more than 40 male citizens over 16 years old and all the babies in the village of Tekridize, and took women and 90 children to the concentration camp. All the houses and buildings in the village were burned down, and a good village was destroyed by German fascists.

In order to mourn the children who died in the fascist war of aggression in Lidice village and other parts of the world, to oppose the abuse and poisoning of children by imperialist warmongers, and to protect children's rights, the International Democratic Women's Federation held an executive committee in Moscow in June 1949+0 1, and formally decided that June 1 every year would be International Children's Day.

After the founding of New China, the Government Council of the Central People's Government made a decision on February 23rd 1949 and 19, stipulating that June 1 day should be the Children's Day of New China, and at the same time announcing the abolition of the stipulation that April 4th should be the Children's Day implemented by the old Kuomintang government of China from 193 1 day.
