Huaqiao University Library was founded in 1950. 1955 formally established an independent library. 1980, after the library was changed from the direct leadership of the school to the library, the organizational system in the library was adjusted, the business scope was broadened, and it gradually developed and expanded.

The library has a total construction area of 22,000 square meters, has more than 2,000 reading seats, and has realized borrowing and sharing resources. The library consists of four departments: Hongkou Reader Service Department, Songjiang Reader Service Department, Resources Construction Department and Technology Department. There is a professional team that adapts to modern library management. There are 46 full-time librarians, including 1 full-time titles, 5 deputy senior titles and 22 intermediate titles. There are 5 people with doctoral degrees, 27 people with master's degrees, and 3 people with bachelor's and other degrees/kloc-0, with an average age of 36.
