This should be discussed in different situations. In some cases, it is better to send them to nursing homes: empty nesters whose children can't always be around to take care of them are physically and mentally unwell and need to buy food and cook by themselves, so it is not so troublesome to eat leftovers. If they have Alzheimer's disease, they are more dangerous, easy to lose, forget to turn off the fire when cooking, fall down at home and no one knows, and no one does first aid in an emergency.

However, most of the elderly who are paralyzed in bed are seventy or eighty years old, and most of their children are fifty or sixty years old. The weight of the elderly is 100 kg, and it is no problem to serve for a month, but it will be unbearable for physical and mental health for a long time. If they take turns to take care of the elderly, they can take care of themselves. Semi-self-care or even disabled elderly people will walk around, which will not only cause trouble to their families, but also make trouble more easily.

Secondly, if you choose to go to a nursing home, you can observe the mental state of the elderly in the hospital first. If you see every old man in the canteen and public activity room full of energy, all flushed and smiling, you can basically conclude that this is a well-run nursing home. If all the old people you see are sad and have no eyes, then 80% of nursing homes are not well run.

Finally, there may be different treatments in nursing care, and it is common to scold and push the elderly in nursing homes. Before retiring, you will be three points shorter here. It was my mother who gave up when she saw that the elderly in the nursing home were mentally abused to varying degrees.

It can be seen that nursing homes are not the only way to provide for the elderly. Pay attention to exercise in the elderly, postpone the self-care stage as much as possible, and pay attention to emotional communication with children, so as not to enter the nursing home and fall into a passive position.
