Contemporary Characteristics of Inner Mongolia University Library
In 2000, the new library of Inner Mongolia University with a total area of 65,438+6,000 square meters, which was built by the first and second phases of the new library, was completed. This building is a landmark building that combines traditional and modern library architectural styles. Its design adopts a modular library building with the same floor, the same column network, the same load and large bay, and at the same time designs and installs comprehensive wiring projects and interfaces such as computer network, communication, TV monitoring and fire alarm. In 2004, the new building of archives was completed, with an area of 170 square meters. Up to now, the library has a total area of 1 170 square meters, with nearly 1526 reading seats, 20 reading rooms for teachers and students and 3 electronic audio-visual reading rooms. Services include Mongolian, Chinese and Tibetan reading rooms.

In July 2002, the library of Inner Mongolia University was upgraded from a C-level member library cataloged online by CALIS Center to a B-level member library, ranking among the top 30 university libraries in China, and the professional level of the library reached the first-class level in the autonomous region, ranking among the advanced ranks of similar universities in China. In recent years, with the rapid development of libraries, the service level and professional level have been continuously improved. The original library management system can't meet the development needs of our library in many aspects. Therefore, we introduced Huiwen book management system, which was fully launched in September 2003. The introduction of this system has greatly improved the service level, professional level and statistical standardization of our library, and promoted the modernization of our library.

In 2009, the 28,000-square-meter South Campus Library was completed and put into use. The new library integrates book collection, reading, exhibition and office work. The internal space layout is scientific and reasonable, full of humanization, and the streamline arrangement is clear and clear. * * * Enjoy the setting of the space, let the sunshine fully introduce, and make the reading space warm and comfortable.

There are 25 reading rooms, 2 Internet service areas, 2 general lending and returning offices and 3,374 reading seats in the libraries of North Campus and South Campus. North and South campuses have multifunctional academic lecture halls, which can host all kinds of large and medium-sized academic conferences at home and abroad.
