Fuzhou Library (also known as Wangde Library) was established in 1959. It is a state-run social welfare cultural institution. It is located in the central business center on the north bank of Minjiang River in Fuzhou, adjacent to the scenic Minjiang Park. It is a key public cultural facilities construction project in Fuzhou and a practical project run by Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.

Fuzhou Library will learn from the management experience of advanced libraries at home and abroad, and strive to build the new library into an information center, a learning center, a cultural center, a humanities classroom, a citizen's learning and a creative space in Fuzhou with the goal of "catching up with the domestic advanced, persisting in characteristic development, promoting the construction of * * * and creating a map-tolerant brand" and adhering to the concept of "public welfare, openness, equality and * * * enjoyment".
There is also a leisure area and a discussion area on the first floor of the museum, which are distinguished by the concept of "combination of static and dynamic", and a direct drinking machine is set up to facilitate the public to borrow and communicate.
