As we all know, with the continuous progress of the information society, people's spiritual and cultural needs are growing day by day, which makes the library an important part of people's lives and a platform for people to learn and meet their spiritual and cultural needs. In my opinion, in order to realize the rapid development of libraries, it is necessary to improve the comprehensive quality of librarians and provide people with efficient and high-level quality services.
Librarians should have firm political qualities.
Political quality is the core of people's comprehensive quality. In improving the comprehensive quality of librarians, the political and ideological quality should rise to the leading position. If there is no good political and ideological quality, even if librarians have high professional skills and management ability, they will not play a role. Therefore, as a librarian, first of all, we should have a firm political stance, correct political beliefs, a certain level of Marxist theory and current affairs policies, study hard the theoretical systems of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Socialism with Chinese characteristics, adhere to the Party's line, principles and policies, consciously arm our minds with historical materialism and dialectical materialism, strictly abide by laws, regulations and civic morality, constantly improve ourselves, and have a strong sense of political responsibility, so that we can work higher.
Second, librarians should have good professional ethics.
Professional ethics is the sum total of moral norms that people engaged in a certain occupation should follow in the process of work or labor and are closely related to their professional activities. Professional ethics is the requirement of professional behavior in professional activities, and also the moral responsibility and obligation of professionals to society.
(1) Librarians should have the spirit of love and dedication.
As a librarian, loving one's post means loving one's job, and being dedicated means treating one's library management with respect and seriousness. Librarians can deeply understand the social significance and function of library work, strengthen professional ethics, fully understand the position of library work in socialist modernization, have a high degree of labor enthusiasm in their work, and engage in book management with strong professionalism, responsibility and creativity.
(2) Librarians must first have the concept of service.
The work of the library is centered on serving readers, and the service attitude and service level of librarians will directly affect the reputation of the library among readers. Therefore, librarians must establish the idea of "readers first" in their daily work, respect readers, facilitate readers, understand readers and meet their requirements to the maximum extent.
(3) Librarians should have the spirit of selfless dedication.
As a highly dedicated service, library work not only requires librarians to have a strong sense of professionalism and responsibility, but also requires librarians to devote themselves selflessly to every reader, actively help readers query books and periodicals, retrieve documents, patiently and meticulously answer a series of questions raised by readers, and so on.
(D) Librarians should have a sense of teamwork.
Cultivating librarians' sense of teamwork and creating a harmonious interpersonal atmosphere will not only help to build a good atmosphere in the library, but also stimulate librarians' creativity, enhance the cohesion and centripetal force of the library and promote the orderly development of library work.
Third, librarians should have excellent style and discipline.
Some librarians think that working in the library is easy, without pressure and heavy tasks. It doesn't matter whether some work is carried out early or late. Even some librarians go to work early and arrive late, which will affect the normal operation of library work. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a perfect library management mechanism and strictly regulate the style and discipline requirements of the library. Style refers to a relatively stable attitude in thought, work and life. Discipline is a kind of rule, which refers to the code of conduct that requires people to abide by the established order, execute orders and perform their duties. No rules, no Fiona Fang. For the library, it is necessary to improve the relevant management regulations, standardize the daily work behavior of librarians with discipline, pay attention to guiding the cultivation of good work style of librarians at ordinary times, and enhance their consciousness of strictly observing discipline. The establishment of a good style of study can leave a good image for readers and is conducive to the construction of a harmonious library atmosphere.
Four, librarians should have high professional ability.
Professional ability is the basic quality needed to engage in book management. Deep professional knowledge and skilled professional skills are the premise of doing a good job in library work, and they are also the professional ethics requirements that every librarian should have. For librarians, they should not only be familiar with the basic situation of the books in the collection, but also master modern management science, dabble in other disciplines extensively, and be knowledgeable. Therefore, librarians are required to study with an open mind, study hard, and constantly enrich themselves and improve themselves in practice. Only in this way can they serve readers better, meet the needs of readers at different levels to the greatest extent, and continuously improve the quality and level of library work.
In a word, modern libraries put forward higher requirements for librarians. Librarians should stand on the position of readers, improve their work style with firm political quality and good professional ethics, constantly improve their professional ability, provide more efficient and high-quality services for readers, and contribute to the development of the book industry.
