1June, 1956, with the approval of the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture, Longyan County Cultural Center Library was expanded into Longyan County Library, located in two shops on the east side of Zhongshan West Road Public Theater, with an area of 108 square meter and a collection of 5,222 books. After 1958, Longyan County Library moved to No.29 Zhongshan Middle Road, with an area of 1400 square meters and a collection of 197600 volumes. Longyan Library was demolished in the autumn of 1998 due to the need of old city reconstruction. With the great attention and strong support of the municipal and district people's governments, Longyan Library broke ground on 200 1 and opened in September 2004. The new site is located on the left side of Xi South Road Cultural Square, with an area of 1.682 square meters and a building area of 1.339 square meters, with eight floors and a total investment of 26 million yuan. 1992, 1998 Our library was awarded the title of "National Secondary Library" by the Ministry of Culture, and 1995 was awarded the title of "Advanced Library" in the evaluation of "Creating Advanced Library" by the Third Public Library of Fujian Province.
In order to build the library automation management system, the xinluo district Municipal Government specially allocated 6.5438+0.5 million yuan to purchase first-class hardware and software equipment: Fujitsu storage system disk array, Cisco switch, Dell server and 75 computer terminals, and established the library website (www.lytsg.com), using ILAS(II) book management software and MARC Chinese book database machine-readable catalogue for internal management.
