Kaohsiung has a 53-year-old "little house", which is an independent bookstore and the library of Dandelion Story Reading Promotion Association. Yif Wang, the owner of the bookstore, used this as a base to promote reading in rural areas, so that more children have the opportunity to listen to stories. The force that led Yif Wang into children's literature and promoted children's reading was her son suffering from a rare disease.

"We don't know what will happen until we do our best," said Yif Wang, director-general of Dandelion Story Reading Promotion Association. When she said this, she remembered that her son was diagnosed with a rare heart disease nine months after his birth. Until the first grade of primary school, she took her son to the hospital for seven years and reported to the intensive care unit every time she was admitted to the hospital.

Although the squire is on the side, no one can change his son's physical pain and psychological pressure. Yif Wang, who is engaged in preschool education, can only give full play to his storytelling skills, and pick up story books and read them to his son one by one, and his son really quieted down with the sound of reading. "I won't say,' Be good, don't cry, it won't hurt.' It's no use, but as long as I keep reading to him, he'll be fine! After reading books at home, Yif Wang began to take back stacks of books from the library and set foot in the field of children's literature.

After his son went to primary school, in order to prevent his son from having a heart attack, Yif Wang volunteered to tell stories when the teacher was not in class in the morning. Later, I organized a "reading club for children with little feet" for my son and several classmates, met three times a month and read a book in detail.

"If my son introduced me to the world of children's literature, then the children's reading club led me to the road of promoting children's reading," Yif Wang said. After seven years of reading, discussion and thinking, she has learned to bend down from the perspective of an adult and talk to her children at the same height. She learned children's language naturally without suppressing her own thinking.

Afterwards, she actively promoted reading. She went to the primary school in Sandimen Township, Pingtung County to tell stories for a year, and it took five hours to drive back and forth each time. Join Kaohsiung City Library to recruit storytelling volunteers; Organize children's reading clubs, enter the city map work, promote the first story mother certification program in China, develop mobile book carts, contact national storytelling volunteers, and meet and exchange in Kaohsiung every year.
