Zhang Yu Teachers College is located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is a public full-time ordinary undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and built by the people's governments of Jiangxi Province and Nanchang City. Zhang Yu Normal University is the only municipal undergraduate college identified by Nanchang Municipal People's Government. It is a normal college that mainly trains teachers of basic education such as preschool education, special education and primary education.

The school was founded in Jiangxi Women's Normal School on 1908 and has been in 1 13. On May 20 17, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Nanchang Normal University was upgraded to Zhang Yu Normal University.

Zhang Yu Normal University has two campuses, namely Hongjiaozhou and Wan Li, covering an area of 1 1,000 mu. The collection is suitable for 850,000 paper books and 6,543,800 electronic books. Zhang Yu Normal University has 14 teaching units, 2/kloc-0 undergraduate majors and 26 specialist majors. Zhang Yu Academy was valued by emperors and governments of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties in Qing Dynasty. Zhang Yu Academy reached its peak in the middle of Qing Dynasty and became one of the famous large academies in China at that time. During the Daoguang (182 1- 1850) and Tongzhi (1862- 1874) periods, the scale of Zhang Yu Academy expanded and its collection increased.

At the beginning of Guangxu (1875- 1908), influenced by the concept of spreading western learning to the east in the late Qing Dynasty, it was changed to Juren Academy, which was called "Xiaoliantang" and "Xiaolian Academy". In the 28th year of Guangxu (1902), it was changed to "Jiangxi University Hall".
