How many books are recorded in Sui Shu's classic chronicle? There has been no conclusion, because Sui Zhi itself provided two completely different figures. The preface to Sui Zhi says, "There are four volumes, 14,466 volumes and 89,666 volumes." But at the end of Sui Zhi, he said, "There are 6,520 volumes and 56,881 volumes about survival and Taoism." Compared with the two, there are too many in the preface.
