Fans or technical control? Don't miss the car black technology.
The automobile has a history of 130 years since it was invented. As a comprehensive industrial product, automobile itself has gathered advanced technologies in various fields. In its own development process, there have also been many exclusive black technologies, or the improvement of power system, or the upgrade of suspension, or the outstanding performance of assisted driving.

Next, Uncle Che introduced some black technologies that appeared in the development of automobiles in recent years. Friends who like cars and technology may wish to learn about it together.

Variable compression ratio engine

The compression ratio of automobile engine directly affects the power and torque output of the engine, and then affects the dynamic performance of the vehicle. Generally speaking, the higher the compression ratio, the higher the fuel economy of the engine, but the disadvantages are also obvious. Too high compression ratio will lead to the detonation of the air-fuel mixture sucked into the cylinder, which will cause damage to the engine. During acceleration, more fuel needs to be injected because of the high load. At this time, it is hoped that the compression ratio of the engine can be appropriately reduced, thus reducing the knock probability.

Usually, the compression ratio of automobile engine has been determined from the moment of production, and it cannot be adjusted later. However, when it comes to black technology, we have to be a bit like black technology. Nissan has given the best solution to this problem. After more than 20 years of technical research, VC-Turbo variable compression ratio engine was finally born. It realizes variable compression ratio through a set of connecting rod mechanism and a motor.

When the vehicle is in a light load state, the motor pushes the connecting rod mechanism to push the piston upward, thus improving the compression ratio of the engine, and the engine has very good fuel economy at this time; When the vehicle needs to accelerate, the motor drives the connecting rod mechanism to move the piston down in exchange for a lower compression ratio. At this time, injecting a large amount of fuel can make the vehicle accelerate well, but it will not lead to deflagration.

Magic carpet hanging

In order to pursue the ultimate comfort, automobile engineers can make great efforts to replace the seat filling materials with more comfortable materials, adopt softer shock-absorbing springs, or use air suspension, electromagnetic suspension and so on. But even so, engineers still feel that such comfort can't satisfy the picky ass of a few people.

So the magic body control was born. This technology was originally carried by Mercedes-Benz on S-Class 20 14. It is very different from the traditional active suspension that actively changes the damping according to the road conditions to obtain good ride comfort. In the sensor part, the magic carpet suspension is similar to the traditional active suspension. They all have multiple sensors in the front windshield rearview mirror position to monitor road conditions in real time. This stereo camera can detect the longest distance of 500 meters in front of the vehicle, and has 3D detection function for the range within 50 meters in front of the vehicle. When the road bumps are detected, the sensor will transmit the signal to the hydraulic servo mechanism of the suspension, and the hydraulic servo mechanism will actively adjust the oil pressure. When the wheel runs over the bump, the servo mechanism will quickly lift the piston in the support rod, thus relieving the stress on the wheel and further ensuring the passengers in the car to get an excellent comfortable experience.

At present, this configuration has been introduced into China and become the standard of Maibakh S680, and BMW 7 Series also has this technology.

Camshaft free engine

Friends who are familiar with the engine know that the camshaft is of great significance to the engine, which determines the opening and closing time of the valve and plays a decisive role in improving the engine power and fuel economy. The ideal of an engine engineer is to be able to control the intake and exhaust valves freely without a crankshaft, so that the engine performance can be improved at will, but the reality is not optimistic.

Since the birth of the engine, the camshaft has been bound by the crankshaft. Although VTEC and DVVT technology can control valve lift and valve opening and closing time, their range is very limited. After all, with the existence of camshaft, the adjustment of intake and exhaust valve time is like dancing with chains. No matter how you adjust, the pace can't be free and easy.

Therefore, removing the camshaft has always been the dream of all internal combustion engine engineers. This ideal state has finally been realized. It was originally exhibited by Qoros as a concept technology at the 20 16 Beijing Auto Show, but considering the reliability, this engine has not been mass-produced. Swedish sports car manufacturer Koenigsegg really mass-produced. In 2020, its GT Super Run Gemera was officially released. Although this supercar is a hybrid power, the internal combustion engine adopts camshaft-free technology, and its camshaft is replaced by a set of "pneumatic-hydraulic-electronic" actuators, which brings obvious benefits. Since then, the intake valve and exhaust valve are no longer bound by the crankshaft, and the opening and closing time of the intake valve and exhaust valve can be completely controlled freely, and the intake valve and exhaust valve can be opened and closed according to different engine working conditions.

The 3-cylinder 2.0T internal combustion engine on Koenigsegg is a good example. After applying camshaft-less technology, its 2.0T engine can output up to 600 horsepower and the maximum output torque is as high as 600n·m, which was completely unimaginable before. Although Honda's early 1.5T engine can squeeze out 1500 horsepower, it's just a racing car, without considering the durability of the engine at all, and it's a perverted product. Therefore, camshaft-less technology has made great progress in improving the efficiency of internal combustion engines, and it also shows people that internal combustion engines have more potential to be developed.

I have to admit that the progress of automobile technology is inseparable from the progress of electronic technology. It is precisely because of the rapid progress of electronic technology that more mechanical parts can be replaced by lighter electronic components, thus making automobile technology step up to a new level. I don't know which one you are more interested in. What car black technologies do you expect to come to us soon?
