In July 2000, the library of Guangzhou University was merged with the adjustment of the school. It is formed by merging the libraries of five universities including Guangzhou Normal University, former Guangzhou University, South China Institute of Architecture (West Campus), Guangzhou Education College and Guangzhou Normal University. The first five libraries have a total area of 29,050 square meters. In July 2005, the library moved into Guangzhou University Town as a whole, and the new library was officially opened in June 5438+10. The existing library consists of the University Master Library and the Guihuagang Campus Branch Library, with a total area of 52,000 square meters. By the end of February 20 17, the library had collected 143500 books, including 3,090,400 paper books, 505,365,438 e-books, 2,705 Chinese newspapers and periodicals, and 207 foreign and Hong Kong and Taiwan newspapers and periodicals. In recent years, while attaching importance to the collection of paper literature resources, libraries have vigorously promoted the construction of digital resources and purchased a large number of online databases, e-books, electronic newspapers and other electronic resources. At present, there are nearly 30,000 CDs, more than 7,000 kinds of audio-visual materials, 57 Chinese databases and 54 foreign language databases. SCI, EI, PQDT, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, EBSCO, SAGE full-text databases, China knowledge resources database (China HowNet), Wan Fang data resources and VIP Chinese periodical database have all been included. E-books 10 1 10,000, Chinese electronic journals 1 10,000, and about 20,000 foreign electronic journals. The total collection of books in the library ranks among the best in the university libraries in Guangdong Province, with rich literature resources and rich books and periodicals in architecture, civil engineering, economy, law and other disciplines.

The library implements the service mode of "integration of collection, lending, reading and inquiry", which can provide 3326 reading seats. The opening hours are from 6: 00 to 24: 00 from Monday to Sunday (except legal holidays), and the weekly opening hours are 126 hours, which is the longest opening hours of university libraries in China.
