Is Daguanlou a landmark of Yibin? What is the historical background?
Yibin Daguan Tower was originally the gatehouse of Yibin Ancient City, also known as the Bridge Tower. In ancient times, it played a role in observing the enemy's situation from a height. Legend has it that it was built by Wei Gao, a famous minister of Dezong in Tang Dynasty, but I'm afraid it was built next to it. In fact, it was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and was completely destroyed in the war in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. It was rebuilt during the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty and was destroyed by fire. In the middle of Qianlong period, it was rebuilt as it was and renovated many times after liberation. Now it is a small library and a landmark of Yibin ancient city.
