At the last stop of my trip to Haikou, I chose to go to Yundong Library, a newly-built online celebrity library, to feel the literary atmosphere of Haikou.
Haikou Yundong Library, located in the northwest of Haikou Century Park Music Square, was completed on 202 1 and 1, with a unique statue shape. It was quickly selected as one of "202 1 the most anticipated finished works in the world" by the internationally renowned media The Times.
Careful observation shows that the design of Yundong Library is not as tacky as the slipper statue we saw. "Cave", coast and city park are integrated, and white concrete is cast into one, which is a design concept. Indoor and outdoor fair-faced concrete is poured into a whole for many times, and the roof and floor are in the form of "waffle" double-layer hollow ribs.
At first glance, the appearance of the white cloud cave library, blue sea water, lush coconut trees and tropical plants are very literary. Not the kui is made by the sea, born by the sea, born with romantic genes.
After entering Yundong Library, you will feel the idea of Yundong as the design inspiration more easily. As can be seen from the inside, there are no columns in the whole library.
In my opinion, this design can make the indoor space look more spacious and concise.
Standing in the library, this kind of irregular hole can be seen everywhere, which not only makes tourists feel beautiful, but also plays a good role in ventilation, introducing natural light into the room and ensuring the brightness of the room.
Every hole seems to be like a small universe and an ear, allowing tourists and readers to listen to the sound of the sea.
In addition to the design inspiration, there are all kinds of functions, such as internal coffee shop, public restroom, barrier-free restroom, shower room, maternal and child room, public rest area, roof garden and so on. From the first floor to the second floor, there is an introduction area, which is the reading area of the library. Sitting on rows of steps, visitors can face the sea.
Climbing the steps and entering the second floor, the whole library has a panoramic view, and the flowing, soft and changeable internal space creates different layers.
And the space between the main reading area and the children's reading area is separated by skylights, holes and niches, which makes children more creative and eager to explore.
Perhaps as the designer of Haikou Yundong Library said, "You can read books here, but more importantly, it is a public building. I hope it interacts with people, nature and local culture. "
