Brief Introduction to the Author of "The History of China Weapons"
Zhou Wei (1884 ~ 1949), an Anhui native, was a pioneer in the study of ancient weapons in China. 1903, officially sent to France to study, and obtained a doctorate in law from the University of Paris. After returning to China, he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Legislative Yuan and the Central University, and participated in the China government delegation to attend the Paris Peace Conference. Although Mr. Zhou Wei majored in diplomacy, law and economy, and wrote books such as Minutes of the Paris Peace Conference and New Public International Law, he devoted his life to the study of weapons history. According to him, reading chivalrous books as a teenager is to admire the sword. In his prime, he was exposed to the precious ancient weapons collected by collectors in European countries, which opened his eyes and made his blood boil. From then on, he devoted a lot of energy to the study of ancient weapons in China and Asian countries. He has extensive contacts with weapons researchers and collectors, visited libraries and museums, collected and studied related works, and even collected hundreds of ancient weapons treasures and nearly 10,000 information pictures. On the basis of a large number of first-hand materials, he made a pioneering study on the development origin, shape evolution and manufacturing technology of Chinese weapons and achieved fruitful results.
