Hunan Medical College was founded on 19 12. Its predecessor was Changsha Red Cross Nursing Training College founded by Yan Fuqing, a famous medical educator who returned from the United States. 1924 formally established Changsha Shu Ren Nursing School.
196 1 moved from Changsha to Anjiang to establish qianyang district health school, 1984 moved to Huaihua and changed its name to Huaihua district health school. In 2000, it was upgraded to Huaihua Medical College. In May 20 14, it was upgraded to Hunan Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
