Pingle ancient town, called Pingluo in ancient times, was named after a small green basin surrounded by mountains in the prehistoric Wang Mingkai period of Shu.

The Baimo River, which passes through the town, is divided into "Neijiang" and "Waijiang" by flying sand weir, forming a unique pattern that one river divides into three waters.

By 65438 BC+050 BC, the Western Han Dynasty had formed a market town with a history of more than 2,000 years.

In the third year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 970), Huojing County set Pingluo for more than 200 years. After the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Zhili Prefecture of Qiongzhou. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (A.D. 1940), Pingluo Township was established, and this name was used after the founding of New China.

1950, the township was separated, 1983, the township was withdrawn to build a town, which was called Pingluo Town, and the town was under the jurisdiction of the village system. /kloc-0 changed its name to pingle town in March, 1993. In September, 2004, Qionglai implemented the division adjustment, cancelled the organizational system of Xiaba Township adjacent to Pingle, and merged the original administrative area of Xiaba Township.
