Chuzhou College, formerly known as Chuzhou Normal School, was founded in 1950. 1977, the teaching point of Chuxian County, Anhui Normal University (Chuzhou Branch) was established; 1980 changed its name to Chuzhou Normal University; Approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2004, it was upgraded and named Chuzhou College.
